POLESOK was created by Ron Wiser, of Sligo, Pennsylvania. Ron has spent the past 40 - plus years in and around the sport of pole vaulting and brings his expertise to the design and use of the POLESOK.
The intention of the POLESOK is to ensure vaulters are able to jump safer when the weather conditions are less than ideal. No one would know better about pole vaulting in less than ideal weather than Ron.
Growing up and spending most of his time in Western Pennsylvania, Ron was no stranger to Spring Invitationals, where the outside temperature would be in the 30's or low 40's. With the cold and rainy or snowy weather comes concerns of safety. The POLESOK was invented to eliminate those worries, by keeping the grip end of the pole as warm as 95 degrees right before time to jump.
With the POLESOK, vaulters will be able to eliminate the worry of a cold and wet pole, which could lead to slipping and less than desired results or worse; an injury!
